Local Communities Benefit from $125,000 of Support
2013 A Record Year Of Giving For Minnesota Energy Resources
Rosemount, MN - Employees and retirees of Minnesota Energy Resources, with support from its charitable foundation, provided direct grants and volunteer support valued at $125,000 to non-profit organizations, associations and community causes in 2013. Grants and volunteerism occurred in communities where the company provides natural gas service.
Below is a summary of the company’s support and areas of impact for 2013:
- Community and neighborhood development - $49,718
- Human services and health - $28,625
- Education - $7,763
- Arts and culture - $5,845
- Environment - $2,900
- Employee and retiree giving - $15,317
The Wisconsin Public Service Foundation is a private, charitable foundation funded by company shareholders and has no impact on rates charged to customers. The foundation is now in its 50th year of helping communities and organizations accomplish their goals of improving everyone's quality of life. Employees and retirees who volunteer or make personal charitable contributions to qualifying non-profits receive support from the foundation's Matching Gifts and Dollars for Doers programs.
